Each PGA and LPGA tournament offers many surprises. Some are for the players and others are for the spectators. In the Bridgestone tournament held last weekend in Akron, Ohio Sergio Garcia had the most unusual surprise. He teed off on #3 pulling his drive way to the right, over the trees and into the crowd. Often a spectator assists a player by nudging his ball to a more advantageous place, sometimes it ricochets of a person, and sometimes it just remains in a difficult position for the golfer to play. But this day Sergio’s ball took an unexacting woman by surprise. She was in small crowd lining the fairway when this golf ball hits her hand. Ouch! She looks and sees that the diamond of her engagement ring is no longer in the ring. What is a Pro to do in this situation? Have you ever heard of this before? Well click below and see just what happen and how Sergio handled this unusual moment.
British golfer, Chris Woods played bogey free golf in round 1 of the Valhalla Club PGA Championship in 4 different pairs of pants. Might you be thinking why? Well, this poor chap split his original pair of pants on his second hole as he bent down to line up a putt. Of course he was embarrassed but he took it in stride and borrowed a pair of rain pants from his playing partner, Johan Kok. Woods ducts into a porta potty to change only to realize that Kok is quite a bit shorter than his 6’6″ stature. In the meantime, they were searching for a taller player who might have packed rain pants in his golf bag. Soon a longer pair of rain pants arrived. Woods now ducts behind a golf channel tower to change again. The weather in Kentucky Thursday was hot and humid and the poor guy sweated in these pants until Stuart Cage, his manager, arrived with his own pants. At this point the black briefs that could be seen under these cream pants only made Woods laugh. The fact that he was able to hold himself together for the round was a miracle. Good luck in this tournament Chris Woods! See just how Chris got in position to split his pants below.
