USGA Rule – Abnormal Ground Conditions

Abnormal around conditions refer to casual water, ground under repair and unusual ground resulting from an animal. Frequently these areas are marked by the maintenance department or pro with a white circle of spray paint. So just where do you drop your ball in a situation like this? Since there is no penalty stroke we know it must be 1 club relief from the start of the abnormal condition or from the club’s marking, of course, no closer to the hole.
